i got my Persian in third grade, so i named her "buttons", because her face looked like a button, i thought. But then my brother started calling her disgraceful names such as Butthead, Buttcat, Buttface; anything but her actual name. This brought me to tears so many times that I decided the only thing i could do is rename her, so i picked Moppet (i loved Beatrix Potter stories). Her nicknames include:

We find ourselves taking in and caring for strays and wayword kitties of all ages. the most we have had was 9 and the least was 3, we are at the high end right now with one of our daughters moving back home temporary and bring her 2 kitties with her.

Our Pixiebob's name is Murphy.....he is a cross between a bobcat and a barn cat. He came to us from the wild. We fed him and loved on him during his many visits to us. Before introducing him into our household with our other kitties, we wanted to be sure that he had a complete exam and his shots. I made an appointment with the Vet and at the appointed time.....n----ooooo Murphy. I canceled and made another appointment and, wouldn't you know, when the time came....Murphy again was nowhere to be found. In our frustration, Dick and I looked at one another and agreed that it was........"Murphy's Law." Finally, on the 5th try we were able to keep our appointment. He has been "Murph" most of his life with us so he has probably forgotten his "formal" name! (smile, smile)
