My mom just gave me her Canon T70. It's not that old, but it's working pretty great, there's no problem with it. It's just that she couldn't find the flash that came with it, she said she'll look for it someday.
I started shooting it without flash and just recently finished 36 exposures. I honestly don't know how the photos would come up for I won't be able to process and scan it until next month.

Congratulation to be the user of T70. This camera is not famous like T90, but very versatile and good. Your T70 will be a good tool to express anything.
About the flash, don't take it serious. Any conventional, old, cheap flash lights are adoptable to T70. You can find a good manual in www.butkus.org/chinon/ .
FD and FD new lenses are sold cheap. T70 works fine with rechargeable AAA batteries. These are other benefit for the users.
Anyway, welcome to our world !

A flash is an accessory to shoot indoors with direct/indirect light. It is not necessary to operate the camera in any way shape or form.
Congrats on getting a fun little camera to play with.
