I'm still editing on photoshop, but now:

Ioad the images into one image
move all of the images except for the first to the left.
make that layer partly transparent. ( an action is helpful)
move the next image under the partly transparent layer and align. Manually. Do not warp it.
Delete 'about' an inch's worth of overlapping material. If you like a part of an image, keep it.
Select those two layers, make them solid ( an action is helpful), and then blend them.
Merge those layers. If it looks funny, delete more or less.

Keep on until it's done. The one below was done like that.

Nice image! I can't say I have the patience for manual stitching. I do sometimes do manual 'fixing' of some images that have auto stitched some areas poorly, but even then I'm often to lazy to fix the issues if I don't spot them on a cursory glance.
