Group Description

Dark, strange and mysterious … this is quite a broad theme, and yet these three adjectives can give us a direction to follow. Your photo should emanate an atmosphere, a feeling, a spirit corresponding to these three words. I leave it up to everyone to interpret them as they see fit. It is clear to me that some subjectivity is left to the administrator. I can explain any refusal or acceptance, but sometimes it's just how it is, so there's no need to come and bawl around if you think that the portrait of your beloved girlfriend (just for instance) deserves to be in the group
So be dark and mysterious. Be strange.

I will list here a few themes that will not be accepted, with some clarifications/restrictions for some of them:

- portraits: if it is a simple portrait (face), even with gory effects, or blood on it and however tattoed, pierced, scratched, nailed or distorsed the face or body is, it will not be accepted. On the other hand, silhouettes, or a person in a mysterious situation is accepted. No nudity, no feet, no ass. There are enough ‚show your tits&asses‘ group on Flickr, just look for it.
- animals: same as for the portrait, the animal must be put in a situation. This means that the animal should not be too dominant in your photo. If you post a picture of your dog or cat in the garden or on your sofa, no thanks! And no macro of insects, I know some of them are strange sometimes or that spiders send many of us in the darkest visions, but if you want to see these little beasts, again there are other groups for them
- nature / landscape: a dark forest, fog, dark hills, country roads, no problem! But no place here for mountains where nothing happens, beaches, country side shots, a sunset or your holiday photos; no flowers / plants, please!
- vehicles: cars, planes, boats, trains... It really depends on the ambiance you have created
- no extremely abstract things, that is not the kind of mysterious thing we need
- no arty blurred view, no bokeh
- no carnival portraits, sports, fireworks, random street photography,
- no Second life, legos, HDR, digital art, AI or pictures of hand made painting, surreal collage...
- no scene with zombie like made-up actors, execution scenes...
