I also have 2 girls aged 2 and 4 soon to be 5. I have done a number 2 themed party, a monkey party and last year was pirates and princessess.
This year my soon to be 5 dayghter requested a craft party and as I could only think of girly crafts it's girls only so loads and loads of pink.
I get scarely controlling about every aspect of parties and while I love being creative it does bring out the control-freak in me!

I am the mother of 2 boys ages 8 and 3 (he'll be 4 in 3 weeks). For my oldest I've done:

Movie Party
Bowling
Pirate
Cars
Buzz Lightyear
For my youngest:
All about me(a celebration of his first year the decorations, cake and treat boxes all included pictures of my son from his first year)
Elmo's Alphabet Jungle(His favorite dvd at the time)
Backyardigans
Dinosaur (coming up in early March)
I love planning parties. I have to agree with neviepiecakes. I am a total control freak when it comes to my parties. I start planning about 9 months before the actually birthday. LOL

Ha ha - I had to laugh when I read both of these posts! I also start planning *months* ahead, everything has to be colour co-ordinated right down to the correct shade!! I am naturally organised and a bit of a control freak, but when it comes to party decor and detail...whoa!! LOL!
I'm in the middle of final arrangements for my 6 turning 7 year old daughter's party now. She's having a Madagascar themed Art party (at the school where she does art as an extra mural). Will post pics after the event ;-)

I love to organize CHILDREN partys.
I have had the party today for my daughter. My little pony party. It was really successful. There were 11 children. I was asked today who think it's the most fun with CHILDREN me or the children. It's probably both. But I really like it!
I have had several children parties including:
For my daughters:
Barbie party Pippi Longstocking, party, summer party, Princess party, beach party, Teo and Tilda party, my little pony, and normal children without party themes.
For my son:
Marine party, bames party, Spider-Man party, jungle party, pirate party and dinosarie party,

I have 2 daughters and 1 son - the girls are now 15 and 13 so I have been through many parties with them ........and the 15 year old now wants me to help her plan a "Sweet 16" party for her birthday in June. As for my son - he was 4 last month, and so far has only had little family parties (themed mainly to Cars because he is Cars crazy!!), although this year he chose a Bob the Builder cake.
One of my favourites that I did for my oldest daughter was a "Garden Fete" kind of party (although on the day of the party it rained and there were thunderstorms all day, so we had it indoors instead lol) We gave out tickets with the invitations, to be redeemed against each of the games - which included lucky dips, hook a duck, guess how many sweets in a jar, hoopla, and decorating their own cupcakes. Hard to believe that was almost 10 years ago! The kids all loved it - despite it being "rained off" and having to hold it inside.
I'd like any ideas of what I can do for the Sweet 16 party if anyone has any! Thanks
