Places to shoot

Hi all,

I'm running out of places that I know of within Wakefield to go off and shoot on the spur of the moment. If anyone knows of any interesting spots (good architecture/interesting sculpture/good geography/whatever) then please post them on here to inspire me and others. I know the South and East of Wakefield best so spots in the North or West are particularly welcome.

Thanks

The New Waterfront development is very good. Even better on a very calm day when the water is like a mirror.

Hi there...well heading out my way - you've got the canal/river down at Horbury Bridge - which is always interesting, coxley valley for trees in autumn, Flockton/Netherton area for hill top shots etc, Ossett for busy market day shots. The sculpture park for well sculptures and nature - but be warned the parking is horrendously expensive and *do* ticket ya if you don't pay! ;-) There's Gawthorpes water tower - weird structure and their maypole too. Heading back into town there's Thornes park with the skate park, bottom of westgate up towards St Johns for Georgian buildings and architecture...not to mention round the train station for gritty (grotty??) building shots at the mo. Of course if ya brave enuff you could always venture into Wakie on a night to capture the puke and fighting nightlife that we're so good for!! ;-)
Hope this helps and give me a yell if ya fancy a day of piccie taking round town...could do with a trip out myself. :-)
