Dear Hidden Mother Group,
The Photographers' Gallery in London (www.thephotographersgallery.org.uk) is currently working on an exhibition for Autumn 2013 on historical images of motherhood to complement a contemporary show in its other galleries called 'Hidden Truths: photography, motherhood and identity' curated by Susan Bright. The Hidden Mother genre is an important aspect of the historical show as it provides an intriguing insight into a domestic use of photography in this area. We are looking for collectors who may consider loaning Hidden Mother images for the purposes of a show, this would open on the 11 October and continue until early January 2014. I would be ver happy to discuss this in more detail should anyone be interested in participating. We of course have strict environmental controls in our galleries and would treat any loan from a private collector with the same seriousness as an institutional loan,
