Canterbury Cathedral

"The shrine of Thomas Becket Archbishop and Martyr stood here from 1220 to 1538"

As in St. Thomas Becket of Canterbury Tales fame.

If you can, join a guided tour of the Cathedral. On the tour, you retrace Becket's final footsteps, as four murderous knights pursued him through the Cathedral.

After the knights succeeded in their task, their king, Henry II, said that when he had exclaimed, "Who will rid me of this priest!" (Henry II and Becket had been quarrelling over the relationship of the Church to the State) he hadn't meant it literally. Sounds to me like Henry II possessed that highly valuable political skill called "Passing the buck"!
