This is the fanciest tall bike we've ever seen. It has rear internal 8-speed hub (with a Victorian glass doorknob gear shift!) and Shimano hub, beautiful custom frame work, Brooks saddle etc.
Made by David of the Seattle Dead Baby Bike Club.
Apparently it's his commuter bike; he mentioned it's still a work in progress.
The Dead Baby Bike Club may have decamped from a Second Avenue alley to South Seattle a few years back, but it still hosts monthly group rides through Belltown on tricked-up bicycles. It’s also launching its own Dead Baby International Independent Film Festival on May 1, with a performance by the dance troupe Stripped Nipples (seen here). Further info is at deadbabybikes.org.

Terry and Darcy of Dead Baby Bikes.
The Dead Baby ride was on the 4th of July, so they got some club funds together to bring us up and get us fireworks to blow ourselves up on their monthly ride. Must be nice to have a hundred people paying dues!

Frame grab in movie mod on D800 while shooting in video mode.
What an interesting event! That's about all that I can sum it up with.

For this 16th event, it started in Queen Anne and ended in Georgetown.
The race started at 7PM and goes on through the night in Georgetown.
All shots using the D800 with battery grip. Used my manual 35-105 Nikon lens. I'm really loving this lens. I also like the vignetting that shows on it.

Dude did a face/shoulder-plant on the sprint up to the ramps, his chain broke. Ouch..
He bounced back up and was riding later.

Made by David of the Seattle Dead Baby Bike Club. That's the handsome devil standing behind the bike.
More improvements are planned, including a hand-cast bronze or pewter gear shifter, custom lights etc.
