#Macro #MacroMondays #Stars
Water from the reservoir flows over the waterfall and dam spillway, and on down the river on an overcast summer afternoon.

Hiding in the brilliant gallery of a croton plant a caterpillar arches in response to the camera. I am not sure of the species of the larva but it was 60mm in length and its appearance raises hope of a spectacular butterfly.
The Governor Mario Cuomo Tappan Zee Bridge taken from Croton Point Park to its north on the Hudson River back in 2018. This modern new span which replaced the over 50 year old Tappan Zee Bridge is a wonderfully designed and modern bridge that features 192 cables stretched among eight 419-foot angled towers cabled stayed structure over it 1200 foot midspan. In this image you can make out the vestiges of the old bridge which eventually was destroyed and allowed to fall into the river to create a natural ‘reef’ so to speak for the aquatic life of the Hudson. It is one of the worlds largest cable stayed bridges and its life expectancy is significantly longer than of the structure it replaced.
