The Difference the Spring Makes

The Difference the Spring Makes

We passed by this old farm again by accident yesterday when exploring a shortcut. The snow had been falling on this old chicken coop the day of our last visit (you may remember the photo below) and many of us were wishing for Spring then. Well, it's here, but oddly it was the same kind of cloudy, gray day. Still there are leaves and green grass, even a few yellow butter cups hiding in the doorway.

Later in the Sunset

Later in the Sunset

I was standing there for a moment thinking how I like it when the sunset changes colors near the end.... but then it was time to run from the mosquitoes!

I've Seen Better Days

I've Seen Better Days

A bit of evening sunlight strikes the hills behind an abandoned farm near Buttermilk Falls, New Jersey.
"The sun is shining down, not one cloud around
The morning hits me where I lay
Everything is green
A perfect day it seems...
But I've seen better days
When the rain was pouring down
And he had his loving arms wrapped around me
I've seen better days
The neighbors come and go..."

Buttermilk Falls in the Rain

Buttermilk Falls in the Rain

We visited this waterfall near Wallpack Center, NJ a few days ago and it had very little water. When we returned last weekend, it was raining a little and seemed to have picked up some flow. It was quite dark in the forest under that cloudy sky, but all the greens were nice to see and there was a pleasant rushing sound from the height of the falls. (200ft)
