At mile 386 on Norfolk Southern's Chicago Line at Brimfield, Indiana, a New York Central tri-light signal stil stands on a tall mast.
A "clear" signal is being displayed on the #1 main in downtown Brimfield, Indiana on NS' ex-LS&MS/NYC/PC/CR Chicago Line as train 24W (Chicago, IL, Ashland Yard to Harrisburg, PA stacks) approaches on the #2 main and passes under U.S. Hwy. #6. The NYC era Type G tri-light signals are still in service here.
Both of W&LE's "heritage units" (both made before the fad) lead the 663 south through Brimfield Township on the last leg of their run from Falls Jct to Akron on the sunny fall afternoon of Oct. 27, 2017.
