Iowa's one-room schoolhouses

At one time, Iowa had roughly 12, 623 of these one-room schoolhouses, but merely a handful still exist of that number. Many have been restored, others sit wasting away, and many have been repurposed into houses or storage sheds. These are part of Iowa's educational heritage.
