t's now time to open up the 2nd half of February thread and another fortnight of tough competition.
This fortnight will run until roughly midnight on the 28th of February, whence the voting will commence.
As usual place number your photo with the next ordinal number preceded by a hash. e.g. #1
Posting instructions blatantly stolen from Prescott in the ACT group:
To submit a photo, go to the photo's page on your photostream.
Click the "All Sizes" button along the top of the image and you are taken to a new page.
We prefer medium, so click the "medium" link up the top.
You should then see a medium version of the image and some text underneath.
Copy and paste all this text (cryptic HTML code) into your post in this thread and viola, you're photo is in the running.
That's it, may the best photo win!

Just a quick reminder to anyone that hasn't submitted but wants to, today is the last day.
I'm closing the vote at 10pm as due to work commitments I can't be up any later. This will be the Qld end time from now on.

It is going to be very difficult to vote this month. Some great photos here.

sounds fair enough to me Dave, I think that I speak for all when I say we really appreciate the great effort that you put into the Queensland thread.

Right, entries are closed. Time for the voting.
*** NOTE: We're doing a three (3) day voting period this time round ***
As usual, please vote for your choice of top three photos in the thread like so:
#A
#B
#C
where A is your choice for first, B for second and C for third. Since I use a script to calculate the votes (hey, I'm a sysAdmin, what did you expect?), please try to stick to that format exactly.
Voting will likely close on the 3rd as per the new 3 day voting period (or maybe the morning of the 4th depending on when I go to bed).
scriptSTART (ignore that, it's a script marker)

No 4 sure is popular. I like it particularly because I paint, and it looks very much compositionally and colour like a painting. At leastit does if you squint your eyes half shut. Sure looks like a winner to me.
Ok, voting is closed (close enough to midnight, I'm off to bed).
Congrats to Albert with #4 - top shot in this round. Please add your shot to the National comp. thread for Feb.
After that, it gets complicated. I figure that because #4 won by a convincing lead, there's no need to break the tie on 2nd and 3rd places, so:
Congrats to the second place getters, #14, #11 & #10
Like wise for our two third place winners #7 and #12.
