It doesn't, I've been messing around with it for an hour looking for a way to export/import/link/view flickr photos from mine or anyone else's photos.

Hey guys, the current version of Photo Gallery supports Flickr uploads. Check out the feature on the 'Publish' menu.

FYI, you can also download other plug-ins too, like Facebook, Smugmug, etc. See blogs.msdn.com/pix/pages/Plug_2D00_ins.aspx

Yes, it is. It has Flickr upload built-in. Tag and edit your photos in Photo Gallery, and then upload them directly to Flickr right from within the app.

This app seems to be obsolete. Certainly there's no "Publish" section to my Windows Vista Photo Gallery. Nor in Windows Explorer for that matter. Therefore the screens at windowslive.com/Desktop/PhotoGallery aren't in-line with my experience of Windows.

In addition (and I am aware that this may not be important for Flickr) there no "plug-ins" associated at blogs.msdn.com/pix/pages/Plug_2D00_ins.aspx

@Wayne Windows Photo Gallery is not the same as Windows *Live* Photo Gallery. WPG was part of Vista only, whereas WLPG is a free download from download.live.com and *does* include Flickr integration. Check it out!

I've been using this app since obtaining windows 7 and I find the 'publish to flickr' feature ideal. However I've noticed when I've first used the program to organise some photos the 'date taken' has been listed as the date the photo was organised and not the correct date contained in the exif data.

Does anyone have a solution to prevent this happening?

I Use Someday with Windows Live Photo Gallery Because When I See and if I Like To Share Someone From Website Pictures. On Windows Live Photo Gallery is Vary Easy Quick Download into Website on Flickr, Facebook or Youtube in One Places... I Really Recommend to use Download Quick Things as Windows Live Photo Gallery. Also is Update Date and is Quick to Find Tag People, Plus they have Panoramic Pictures. And I Really Use Application For This On Flickr...

This is really cool but I'm having some problems that no one else is mentioning, which I find odd. I changed the captions and filenames of my photos in Windows Live Photo Gallery. And then uploaded them to flickr using the plugin from within Photo Gallery. Worked great except that the metadata got all screwed up.

First, the old captions that I had deleted in Photo Gallery came back. Second, any caption that I added in Photo Gallery became the new title, replacing the filename instead of being placed in the flickr Description. Is this how it's supposed to work?

Sorry guys, I still keep on pushing on with the people tags. Flickr now has people tags, and WLPG had them for quite a while.

I am using the beta now and to my surprise the people tags still don't show up in my flickr uploaded pictures!

Is there any plan on implementing this in the final version? Is it going to finally work, sooner or later?

(Facebook can recognize the people tags... on the pictures uploaded in the same way)

wmbaum says:

I too would love to see the people tags import, but I don't see this happening anytime soon. Flickr seems to have interpreted "people" to mean Flickr members, or other living human beings with known email addresses. You'll notice that most of the people tags that don't import also cannot be added manually with Flickr.

This is entirely appropriate for public photos, but not for private photos shared with friends and family. I should be able to tag my great grandfather whether he has an email address or not.

I fully understand the privacy concerns about identifying living people in public photos, but I should be able to tag my long lost 5th cousin Edna or my 3rd great grandfather and share that with family and friends.

managing photo with this could good job. but if you use RAW images more, it couldn't be the best choice.

tagging, naming and other features works well. but basic image adjusting features is not supported if you shoot with RAW images.

basic uploading interface is so simple, and ease to use for novice user.

When I try to upload 30 shots for example , after having uploaded 3 or 5 or 15 it stops and displays an error message and cancel the other uploads, why not modifying the script to keep in mind the shots in error and continue to upload the others and at the end try to upload the ones which has an issue ?

At the same time, Flickr lists WLPG among the applications which have access to my Flickr account. I tried to remove it and authorize again but no luck.

ausfi says:

I just happened to come here as I do not need this page, and found people despairing about the authorization. I have used the application since I bought my laptop 2011. The reason it does not work now, is that Flickr changed to a secure connection (HTTPS) in June. The Live Gallery is not secure, so we cannot send photos to Flickr from there any more, unless Microsoft also changes the Gallery to HTTPS. Flickr sent to the third party sites information of the change and a program how to change. A group from Flickr started writing to Microsoft, and in case Flickr had not contacted them, I sent them a link to all that information, so they certainly had it. In the beginning of September, after we had waited for three months, they informed us that Microsoft was not going to do anything: "there is not going to be an update."

dlanor smada , Flickr has done all it can, it is for Microsoft to act on the information they have got from Flickr.
