That First Step's a Doozy
I found this little scene across the street from the B&B we stayed at in Seward amusing. For one thing, I don't think of this as the sort of place for tsunamis, but then I guess if you think about it, they're right on the water and it's possible. But to be pointing out the obvious - "Hey, dummy, head up the mountain!"? Too good.
The mountain you see there is called Mt. Marathon, and the reason for the name is because they actually hold a marathon run up it every 4th of July. You can even see the trails going up it. We were here in the days just before, and boy was the town filling up! Campgrounds were packed, and any time we looked up at the mountain, we could see people practicing, making their way up it.
Check out the map - the town of Seward is small, long and thin. You are seeing from nearly the water all the way back west to 1st Ave.
