Penyu Hijau Selat Melaka

Green turtle ( Chelonia mydas ), surfacing for a few seconds to breath. This species feeds almost exclusively on sea grass and therefore inhabits shallow coastal water and a sandy bottom. The green turtle used to occur abundantly in tropical coastal water in this area, but collection of eggs, hunting of adults and other human influences have depleted or extirpated many populations.
