The Fannie Heck House (1869)

The Blount Street Historic District - Raleigh, North Carolina USA

Fannie E. S. Heck (1862-1915) social activist and writer, lived here. Built in the Second Empire architectural style.

HERE is a nice write-up on this Second Empire Victorian gem with some interesting local history.

(NRHP added 1972 - Building - #72001000)

UPDATE: THIS Queen Anne-style house in California beats the "heck" out of even The Heck House for gaudy and ostentatious.
