This piece of old-tech is my go-to music player. Much better quality than a cassette tape player, much smaller than a CD player, but unfortunately overtaken by the MP3 format which now plays on our mobile phones, this is my MiniDisk player. Developed by Sony, it used small cartridges that contained a magneto-optical disk which was almost scratch proof, compared to a CD.
This one is my Sony MD player from around 1995. It can both record and play, in fact I do believe it was used to record a choral concert in the Royal Albert Hall in London, not by me but by someone who bore a passing resemblance to me. A superb technology that technology has passed by.
