Logitech Illuminated Keyboard - Fix for Problem Spacebar
I was having a problem with my new and expensive Logtitech Illuminated Keyboard. The Spacebar wouldn't register if I hit it softly, which is the way that I generally type.
Searching around the internet, I see that a few others have had this same problem with this keyboard. I'm posting this fix for those people.
I recommend that you first contact Logitech to see if you're covered under warranty. I wasn't, as I bought refurbished from an eBay vendor (and the serial number had been blacked out).
If you've never pulled a key off of a keyboard before, here's a vid you can watch for instructions:
On this keyboard, pull the spacebar off by pulling up and back from it's top edge. I used both hands to minimize torque. It's clipped to key scissors on both ends and in the middle. Refer to the image for the explanation of my fix.
I'm not offering any repair advice with this post, and I'm not responsible if you break your otherwise awesome new keyboard. I'm simply presenting info on how I was able to fix my problem.
