Walking down

Sherman Way

in Reseda, California,

he was wheeling a

shopping cart filled

with a big electric

generator. He was with

his wife, who didn't want

her photo to be taken;

he asked me if I was

interested in

buying the generator.

I said I wasn't, and asked

if I could take his photo.

His wife warned him that

his photo could end up

in one of "those magazines,"

but he didn't think so.

She then said that if I

did take it, I should show

the shopping cart. But he

kindly stood in front of

this blue wall - and I was

so happy to meet anyone near

this great wall - and he

said I didn't have to show

the cart.

But then he asked,

"You're not from the

FBI, are you?" I laughed,

as he's not the first to

pose this inquiry to me,

and assured him I wasn't.
