Star Trail and Aurora Borealis at Mono Lake, California

    Newer Older

32 minutes exposure at Mono lake I was so lucky that the sky was very clear and there was no moon on that day. Moreover, there was a magnetic storm a day before this photo was taken so there was aurora borealis (The Northern Light) caught on this image as well.

I was actually alone in Mono Lake from midnight to dawn and I've gotta tell you, it is scary as hell. But after seeing this photo, I'm super uber happy.

I've gotta admit that Nikon D4 is the king of high ISO. Hope you like it :)

Love the slight purplish tint on the horizon!
And if you look, there's two airplane flashlight trails in there too, lucky they are not destracting :)
