OOF Colourful Collage for the smallest room in the house
During the April 2010 school holidays I came up with the idea of doing a photo project with the kids. We each ran around the house with a camera of our own (4.5yo and 7.5yo), looking for the most colourful things we could find and taking our own out-of-focus/defocused images (check out the defocus group for heaps of great examples of this style). We had hundreds to choose from and thanks to a cheap printing offer (so well timed during the school holidays), we were able to print the best ones out for $0.09 each.
We then assembled the photos in an interesting collage and presented them in an IKEA clip frame, which now hangs over our toilet!
It was a simple and fun project that only cost a few dollars. No need to tell the children that they're taking photos the wrong way or of the wrong things, let them use their creativity to come up with beautiful images in unexpected ways.
