Wedge Pond 1

This was taken back in mid October, 2011. It is a small pond in Kananaskis Country, Alberta. It's famous for its mirror-like surface and the reflection of the mountains standing behind the pond.

Although it's not snowing yet, because of the morning chill and the weather tended to be colder in the mountain compared to the city, the temperature was only -7.5° C. By the time I got there, two photographers had been there already taking photos with their big DSLRs and various professional gears and equipment, probably even before the sunrise. So I was shied away from the professionals, holding my little Canon G11 and picked a spot to start shooting a few pictures. My fingers were freezing and numb after only 10 minutes.

The light of the sunrise poured on the summit of the mountain, peacefully and amiably. The reflection sketched the entire image of the mountain on the surface of the pond.
