I made this image out of 11 individual vertical shots and then stitched together in photoshop, so I highly recommend seeing it in Large.
This image was taken at Dugout Wells in Big Bend. During the 1900's Dugout Wells was one the most important cultural and social centers of the area.
It was home of one of the few schools in the area and the windmill got water from the underground reserves which helped growing cottonwood trees making this zone a literal oasis in the desert.
Each image was taken with a Nikon D7000, with a Tokina 11-16mm at 11mm, f/2.8 for 15 seconds at ISO 6400.
