Slug on a Lily

    Newer Older

Drove home in a down-pour. When I got home I saw this guy munching away at my Wife's Lilies.

Shot with a Sigma 2.8 90mm Macro + life-size lens. SB-600 hand-held in a DIY soft box (lumiquest III size) fired via CLS, Manual power 1/4.

spectacular! thanks for sharing the info on this.

what is a life-size lens? A close up filter attachment?

The old Sigma 90mm Macro doesn't do 1:1 without an add-on lens. It's called a "Life-Size Adapter", but it's just a close-up attachment. I get very good IQ with it though - I don't hesitate to use it when I'm getting in close.

right on, that's interesting to know!
I use the Nikkor 105mm and while the 1:1 is great I want to grab the Kenko extension tubes and try some crazy 5:1 stuff, if I can... your work is insipring!
