Earth Day Aurora
April 22nd , Akaroa Heads Lighthouse
The Galactic Milky way arches over the Aurora Australis and Akaroa lighthouse. First time to this spot and I love it, with the winding path and the light central, the arch in the sea, the slopes and curves and the light from tens of thousands of years ago in the sky. Every picture tells a story, this one is all about the night sky and the absolute joy it can bring. I was literally shouting out here, glad I was alone otherwise people would think I am crazy...
Comprised from 60 individual frames taken on a canon 6d at 35mm, ISO 6400, f2.0 shutter speed of 13 seconds, using a Novoflex VR slim and Sirui w2204 tripod. Stitched in PT Gui and processed in photoshop.
If you would like to know more I still have a few places available on our June 24th astro workshop in Christchurch
