1/16" 2% lanthanated after welding
Taking a different approach to independently adjustable EN and EP amperage. The common approach is running higher EN amps to put more heat into the part and less into the tungsten. I found I had to turn my balance down to get enough cleaning and that resulted in more tungsten degradation with a 3/32" tubgsten. I started experimenting with running the EP amperage higher than the EN amperage. Here, I'm running 45% higher amps on the EP side and turning up the balance to 80-85% EN. This has allowed me to run a smaller (1/16") tungsten with a fully pointed tip for much greater control. The point barely degrades after tacking and welding out two front triangles. I'm thrilled.
