Burning Man 2011 High Resolution Satellite Photo

    Newer Older

This is the 2011 GeoEye Satellite photo of Burning Man 2011. This photo was taken at 11:49am on Thursday Sept. 1. Much thanks to Andrew Johnstone, Digital Eye and the GeoEye Satellite ( www.geoeye.com ) folks for making this happen. They're working on a much higher resolution image, but they're still working on stitching it together. Enjoy!

Love it! How amazing that there's a festival out there that forms its own city. :)

The "Tribe" (backwards "e") is a project that my camp created this year. Using 3 tanker trucks of water (visible in the "dot" over the "i") we created our camps Logo over 1700' long, The Capital "T" was exactly 700' tall! The Tribe has been attending Burning Man since 1997. Organizer and Artist Jim Bowers created the 1MileClock project this year also.

I found my camp. Can you see me standing in front of Media Mecca? I'm next to an blonde Australian girl and a little kid in a hammock.

Jim - I helped fund the 1 Mile Clock through Kickstarter. I was wearing an autographed tshirt from it.
