Flatirons on Fire
So, in case you (like me) live under an uninformative rock, it turns out Colorado is a crazy tinderbox of fire-inviting dryness and heat. Someone told me that Fort Collins had a big fire going on, and I even saw dark smoky clouds showing up north of Boulder, but I figured it was just CGI and ignored it.
Then today, I went out of my concrete, windowless, cold bunker of an Electronics Lab at the Engineering Center on my Univeristy of Colorado Campus, and saw this! Turns out, the fires are real. And they are in my backyard now. Even has a nickname: the Flagstaff Fire
This was an HDR pano stitched from the roof of the parking garage on campus.
