Bigger is Better

Newer Older

So I got the idea from this from the huge Dubai pano someone took a while ago. Its the biggest shot I've ever taken. The one I uploaded here is super compressed as the real thing is 1.4 gigs-stitched from 47 shots with my Canon 7D. That makes it somewhere between 30 and 45 feet long!

As for the shot itself, its a 360 pano from the peak of Triangle Pass. Its about 13,500 feet high and marks the summit of the rout between Crested Butte and Aspen CO. The whole scene was so HUGE I kinda felt obligated to doing it justice. There are at lease 6 14ers in view and every peak there is just a mountaineers paridise.

PLEASE PLEASE check it out bigger! Click on it or view the super-sized original (which is really only a quarter sized). It might take a sec but its TOTALLY WORTH IT! If you don't I'll kidnap your dog-or dognap your kid!

Anndddd... go!

WOW... and I did take the time to look at the full size... lots of scrolling but the detail even full size is amazing... bet it took awhile to crank out the pano w/ 47 images! If full size is 45 ft long, you could print it and build a round room to display it... AWESOME! I'm sure there are panorama specific groups on Flickr but give it a shot posting here (am not a member of any pano groups)...

Great computer work, Zach! I can't say I envy fact, I doubt my pathetic computer could even handle working with a monster like that.

-It was the first test of my new machine. Its pretty quick but was bogged down for about 3 hours putting this behemouth together
-Extra enthusiastic thanks! I think I just got lucky with this one. Very little processing at all, just a polarizer and some camera settings!
