Iran Persepolis _DSC6164
The southern side of the Tachara showing original entrance. Darius began construction of his personal palace, Tachara after commencing the Apadana, but this much smaller building was finished relataively quickly. While Tachara means 'winter palace', and is often identified as Darius' private palace, its small 15 by 15 metre inner space would reasonably indicate its use as a temporary ceremonial hall pending completion of the Apadana.
This shot was taken from the yard where Darius once had his Paradaesa, or garden.
