begin afresh, afresh, afresh

    Newer Older

away from the Ministry of Truth today, out and about, beautiful sunny day, family picnic beside an enormous fallen tree, couldn't get over how much these dead limbs look like reaching hands - final stanza of Philip Larkin's The Trees seems appropriate...

"Last year is dead, they seem to say, Begin afresh, afresh, afresh...."

They do look like hands, reaching for the sun. Good capture.
