  • Admittedly, I had to buy this train in a store .. I had it shipped over from the UK. There was a sense of realism missing, though, so I added some dirt to the exit doors.

Knaresborough Train Station

Yorkie's Model Shop

Before heading back to work today, I thought I'd construct a quick model of Knaresborough rail station, in North Yorkshire. I was working from memory here, and I haven't been there in a couple of years, so I hope I got the detail right.

Tall Guy, timballas, atbattson, and 6 other people added this photo to their favorites.

I don't mind admitting I'm really confused by your photographs. At first I thought, "Wow! Amazing stuff!" and left a few such comments.

Then I thought, "Those aren't models, and I'm really gullible," and deleted all my comments.

Now I'm thinking, "Maybe they are models?..."

    What's going on here?

Yorkie obviously has too much time on his hands :-)

Thanks for the comments! And yes, I did have some time on my hands .. but noy that much time. Here's the secret using free software (GIMP). There's also a photoshop guide here.

Truly amazing how you're managing to make the real thing look like models in your recent pictures...of course, you'll never get a job in cinema though ;-)

Thanks for all the great comments. You make me want to go through my archives and look for more things to make models of!

You've missed the tunnel and the viaduct.

Do you know how long it would take me to build a model of a viaduct?? Holy moly.
