I saw a film here. It was about a girl from Thimpu (the big city) coming out to the East of Bhutan, where they speak a different dialect and is a lot more isolated, provincal. She meets a guy, and eventually they overcome all barriers and have kids. There are some awkwardly performed songs, inspired by Bollywood cinema. But overall I enjoyed the experience a lot.
Strangely the film was in Dzongkha (the national language), but when characters spoke the Eastern dialect the subtitles shown were in English. I suppose all literate people speak English, and friends tell me it's faster to read English than Dzongkha.
