    (Added to the group Macro Mondays for the theme: "Paradox")

    So I'm learning movie-editing for work and I was blankly staring at these DV tapes one day. We have this fancy-schmancy Sony camcorder that records in high definition video. I thought it was weird that this ridiculously expensive digital equipment still uses archaic recording means such as these analog tapes...

      Nice shot, I like the "face" in this.

      I like how you stacked the tapes in this shot to give the object a face. Got to love blending old school tech with the latest hardware. This looks great in B/W

      Good old tape media... with all the tape backup going on within the enterprise level it looks like this stuff is here to stay, a least a little while longer. Great DoF and nice choice of background

      Seen in the group"Macro Mondays" (?)

      Very cute tape robot!
      Perhaps tape is still used because their permanence is slightly more tangible - unlike with a hard drive where one day you could go to turn it on and find that it wont, and you'll never see anything on it again.

      @Val, @Click1... haha--thanks for noticing. I was going for a Johnny 5 feel (from 1986's Short Circuit)
