Compled and Symbiotic Relationships

Nature is fascinating when you start to learn from various interactions between insects and plants.


Here you can see that the leaf though green in color, has a red spot on it and that spot alone produces a sugary substance (you can see a small shiny blog in the middle of the red spot). The ants like that and they keep moving around on the plant to collect these goodies. In turn they protect the leaves from other insects which can eat the leaves.


(of course I learnt it in a great documentary by Sir David Attenborough and that made it easy to make sense of this "transaction" which i observed in nature).
