SJS Squad 18

San Jose Fire Department responded to reports of a Townhouse on Fire on Shadowdancer Drive. With 9 separate 911 calls and smoke visible from a distance the response was upgraded to a second alarm before the first units arrived on scene.

Ultimately San Jose responded 3 alarms to the incident. Fortunately the fire, which spread rapidly to the attic, was held to just two units, thanks to intact fire walls in the attic space. No residents were injured during the blaze. One fire fighter was transported to hospital with a medical issue.

San Jose Squad 18 responds alone to Alpha and Bravo level EMS calls, as well as leaky hydrants, lock ins and more. Squad 18 is a 2002 MedicMaster/ALF built ambulance on a Freightliner FL70 chassis.
