San Jose Fire Department responded to a report of a duplex house on fire in the early hours of February 29th, 2012.
Arriving firefighters reported heavy smokes and flames from the attic with heavy winds fanning the blaze. Residents were woken by the sound of fire on the roof, while the adjoining unit residents were woken by pounding on the door from a passing stranger who dissapeared as quickly as he arrived.
Santa Clara County EMS has a medic unit on standby during the 2 alarm fire. 911 Ambulance service in Santa Clara County is provided by Rural/Metro under an exclusive transport contract with the County EMS Agency. Their fleet is mostly 2011 GMC 5500 rigs with Taylor Made boxes.
