FASCV Fire Support Unit 1
On June 20 Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety received reports of an appartment fire in Sunnyvale. The three alarm fire was reported around 1:50 am, and completely gutted a second story appartment. Two other units sustained fire damage, while several more suffered smoke and water damage.
About 40 residents were displaced as a result of the early morning blaze. One occupant suffered burns and was transported to hospital. His injuries were not life threatening. Sunnyvale DPS was assisted by units from Mountain View Fire, Santa Clara Fire and Palo Alto Fire, as well as Rehab support from the Fire Associates of Santa Clara Valley.
Rehab was established by Fire Associates of Santa Clara Valley Fire Support Unit 1. Fire Associates provide Rehab services to the 11 Fire Departments of Santa Clara County from three Fire Support Units. This is FSU1, a 1996 GMC with a light rescue body built by Burton's. It is equipped with drinking water, coolers, gatorade, seating, pop up shelters, misters, lighting, power, food and more.
