Cadillac Mtn. a measure of the suns travels
Schoodic penninsula forms the eastern shore of Frenchman bay (Maine). From the west shore there is a great view of Mt. Desert (home of Acadia National Park) and Cadillac "Mountain" (yeah yeah, it is a mountain to us!) Mt. Desert runs North and south so is perfect backdrop for the movement of the earth in relation to the sun. Each equinox and solstice we mark where the sunsets on points along the Mount deserts shore. If you brush over the photo you will see the points of sunset through the seasons. Magically we found the place to view where the sun sets at the tip of Cadillac Mountain at the Equinox.
