Tractatus universi iuris (1584-86)
This gallery is intended simply to provide access to the vast content contained in the 22-volume TRACTATUS UNIVERSI IURIS (Venice, 1584-86), an enormous compendium of writings on Roman and canon law. The images were cropped and edited for legibility, not for aesthetics. The images show the author and title indexes from volume 1. The TRACTATUS UNIVERSI IURIS considerably expands an earlier edition, the 18-volume TRACTATUS EX VARIIS IURIS INTERPRETIBUS (Lyon, 1549); it contains 754 titles by 362 authors, compared to 458 titles by 207 authors in the earlier edition.
