Familia de Cela

One of the B/W pictures with most power and content was the one I took of my family from Cela (Irixoa, La Corunna, Spain) in 1979. We have belonged (on my mother's side) to this area from the early 1800. The image is self-explanatory; the conviction and pride in the expressions, the naturalness in their attitude, the "work" clothes shown without complex represent to me what could be the icon of a Galician working family that remained in the countryside in spite of the unstoppable flow into the cities.
