Groyne, Zingst, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

I spent the weekend on the Darß peninsula, Germany. Mostly to watch cranes at Germany's national park "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft", as there is the largest landing area for cranes in northern Europe, eating for about two months before they continue flying to Spain or North Africa.

I did take some other pictures too, one of which you can see here. Sunday morning, cloudy weather, and I was in the right mood.

I actually like the apparent anachronistic way I took the pictures. Tripod, angle viewfinder, cable remote, really taking your time with composing, long exposure times. 30 seconds, in this case. Nothing hectic, enough time to breathe everything in for yourself, not just for the picture.

I put my Tokina 11-16mm to f8, avoiding the diffraction regime. Itching for a tilt lens, though. I put the tripod as low as possible. Even removed its center column to get it really close to the ground. I took several to sort out the waves, Lightroom treatment is mainly contrast improvement and choosing the square frame, of course.
