The Morning Room at Berkeley Castle was originally a 14th Century Chapel and this sundial was put in with a fly painted onto the glass. The joke being "Time Flies" - sermons in here could be 4 - 5 hours long.

Maker: probably by John Oliver (1616-1701)

Date: 1600's

Original Location: In the private chapel's window, Berkeley Castle, Gloucestershire UK

Present Location: at original location

Orientation: Vertical. Declines about 70° east of south.
