1937 ... Junkers aircraft

  • Hello Chicago 5y

I want to fly a junker.
  • John in Boston PRO 5y

The aircraft the artist chose here is the civil variant of the Junkers Ju.86. The clean lines are no exaggeration -- she was a sleek design, seeing service all over the world, too.

it's not a very good name, is it?
  • James Vaughan PRO 5y

... of course it it pronounced with a silent 'J'.
  • Paul Malon PRO 5y

Junkers does look bad in English. But the junkers were landed nobility in Prussia, so to the Germans it would have been an evocative name. Very sharp piece of graphics by the way.
  • Hello Chicago 5y

    Unkers?
  • Jim Hamann 5y

    I always pronounced it Yoon-kers.
