Albany Bell Hatchery
Photos of the (now demolished) Albany Bell Hatchery in Mount Lawley, Western Australia.

The site - which hatched chickens for the poultry industry -consisted of an art deco office block at the front, a large shed down the side, and a house with large gardens and a garage at the back on top of the cliff overlooking the river. It was shut down in the early 80s and remained derelict until it was demolished in 2007. All that now remains is the facade of the office block. The land will no doubt be redeveloped into high price apartments.

These photos document the site from its abandoned state through the demolition, through to all that's left.

Historical Note: The site was originally the location of the Albany Bell family home. A picture of the house c1920 is held at the State Library of WA.
