SR 520 Eastside September 2012 Closure
Construction crews took advantage of a weekend-long closure of the SR 520 floating bridge and highway Sept. 21-24, 2012. Major work included installation of a massive fish-friendly culvert underneath all SR 520 lanes near 108th Avenue Northeast in Bellevue, as well as shifting westbound lanes to the north near Evergreen Point Road, and installing lighting and drainage.

The SR 520 Eastside Transit and HOV Project is widening SR 520 from four to six lanes from Medina to Bellevue and includes rebuilding interchanges, installing fish-friendly culverts, and building highway lids and transit stops in the center of the highway. In 2010, WSDOT awarded the $306 million design-build contract to Eastside Corridor Constructors, a joint venture of Granite Construction Company and PCL Construction Services.
