South end of the Alaskan Way Viaduct Replacement
These photos provide an overview of WSDOT’s project to replace the south end of the State Route 99 Alaskan Way Viaduct, near Seattle’s stadiums and port. South end construction began in summer 2010 and was completed in fall 2012. The new roadway connects to the remaining viaduct along Seattle’s waterfront until the SR 99 tunnel opens in 2016.
