SR 520 Eastside August 2012 Closure
Construction crews took advantage of another weekend-long closure of the SR 520 floating bridge and highway Aug. 10-13, 2012. Major work included demolition of the old Bellevue Way overpass and installation of a massive fish-friendly culvert underneath all SR 520 lanes in Bellevue.

The SR 520 Eastside Transit and HOV Project is widening SR 520 from four to six lanes from Medina to Bellevue and includes rebuilding interchanges, installing fish-friendly culverts, and building highway lids and transit stops in the center of the highway. In 2010, WSDOT awarded the $306 million design-build contract to Eastside Corridor Constructors, a joint venture of Granite Construction Company and PCL Construction Services.
